For more than a decade, Steve & Filip Design has been specializing in full-service interior design strategies for new construction and renovations for homes, offices and retails spaces across Chicagoland. Filip Malyszko
In 2006, Filip met Steve over a drafting table at Harrington College of Design — and never looked back. A master at refining schematics and setting a rhythmic pace for planning and execution, he leads the charge at Steve & Design when it comes to project management and day-to-day operations. Our North Star, Filip shines when it’s time to take a mixed bag of inspiration and distill it down into a tangible design plan. And as one half of the dynamic design duo that is ‘Steve and Filip,’ he’s an innovator, a lover of hand-touched craftsmanship, and a discerning seeker when it comes to sourcing the perfect shade of paint or honing in on an upholstery pattern that will make your heart skip a beat.
Steve Somogyi
With a background in luxury residential real estate, Steve cut his teeth in interior design consulting for new buyers before launching S&F in 2009. Fast forward 10-plus years — and a roster of repeat clients from Lake Tahoe to New York — and he’s our captain of creativity and commander of polish. An artist and a visionary, Steve has served on the Auxiliary Board of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has a third eye for contrast and color palettes, and the ability to pull ideation down from the clouds and ground it in impactful moves and moments. From design-forward urban abodes and unconventional single-family homes to cozy cabins in the woods, he can see it from the big picture down to the finishing details. Steve is also our man on the ground in Michigan for our Harbor Country projects and the co-creator behind The Joy Project, a forest oasis for celebrating a slower pace.
Antonia Terihaj
Often found running point on communications and project management, Antonia is an essential member of the Steve & Filip Design team — and an extension of our namesake duo in all ways. Managing budgets, facilitating orders and keeping projects on track are her superpowers, skills she honed at Loyola University and The Art Institute of Chicago before joining Steve & Filip Design in 2020. On the design front, she’s the definition of patience when bidding on a bar cart and a spirited hunter at the antiques market. From spreadsheets and scheduling to client facing on the daily for access and transparency, Antonia rolls deep on each and every project when it comes to decisions and deadlines. When she isn’t hard at work at our offices, on site visits or coordinating collabs with vendors, Antonia is an amazing mother to four gorgeous children — yet another role she slays with style and grace
